The deliverable
Captures
Every stored capture of robots.txt, llms.txt, ai.txt, and declared RSL license documents in your date range, plus the file's state entering the range, with SHA-256 hashes and the previous capture's hash chaining the sequence.
Seals
RFC-3161 TimeStampResp tokens from an independent Time Stamping Authority bind each capture's hash to its date. Verifiable with stock OpenSSL: the README shows the exact commands.
Continuity
Between changes, Merkle inclusion proofs (RFC 6962, the Certificate Transparency construction) bind each daily check to a timestamped run root, evidence of continuous monitoring, not cherry-picked snapshots. A bundled stdlib verify.py replays it all.
When it matters
Plaintiff and defense both need the same fact: what the file said when the crawling happened. A neutral archive's dated captures answer it, for either side.
When was the crawler first disallowed? Did scraping continue after the block appeared? The change sequence (hash-chained and timestamped) is the timeline exhibit.
RSL and llms.txt terms change silently. What license did the site declare on the date the content was taken? The declared document, as served that day, is in the record.
